Mark Reynolds Dies At Sea Otter

Thanks to Vegas Bob for this story...

San Jose mountain biker Mark Reynolds, 48, died after his bicycle crashed during the Sea Otter Classic competition at Laguna Seca Raceway on Saturday, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office reported. Deputies said that around 12:30 p.m., Reynolds, an experienced competitor, failed to negotiate a narrow wooden bridge and crashed into a dirt embankment, suffering head and neck injuries.

Reynolds was taken by helicopter to Natividad Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The coroner's office plans to conduct an autopsy on Monday to determine exact cause of death.

Officials with the race said it was the first death in the event's 17-year history.

This is a horrible story, and our hearts go out to Marks family.. You hear plenty of people saying they would love to die doing what they love.. but personaly, I would much rather be having beers with all of you guys in 20 years and talk about the good old days of racing.. Actualy, I do that already, but you know what I mean.
Another Mountain Biker sharing the same name lost his life in So Cal from a mountain lion attack.. Kinda strange huh!!
