Early Report From Los Olivos NMBS

Yesterday the 'Boners had a great race at Los Olivos! Bert "The Hurt" Blanchette managed to claw his way to a THIRD place finish in Pro Single Speed!! With sinewy legs of steel and lungs that make Lance Armstrong feel like he smoke ten packs a day, Bert ravaged the course, scared cattle, and banged his way to the podium. Brant "The Hitman" Hatton also managed to kill it. He went all Special Forces on his Expert class to take the 4th place spot. He probably threatened the other guys with DNA tests to prove HE in fact was their children's father if they didn't get out of his way!
Vegas Bob had a good race, too. He placed inside the top ten (out of two riders, haha) and didn't black out after the race like Sea Otter! Vanessa raced, but I have yet to hear back as to her results. I will try to re-contact everyone after work today (filling in for someone) and post the rest of the results by tomorrow morning. Ryan B., Matt T. and Randy Rush are racing RIGHT NOW, so I'll let ya'll know how they did later! Good luck everyone, be safe and have fun...


On another note...it was about 107 degrees yesterday at 2pm for the Pro XC race. Top US Pro female Georgia Gould was waaaaay out in front, and with about a mile to go, she managed to heat-stroke out, ride off a cliff, and according to eyewitnesses "was running around and yelling like a madwoman."


She was taken to the local area hospital for recovery. Many of the days athletes were either OVER hydrated, or woefully underhydrated. The list of DNF's was large from the Pro ranks.
