Randy and Trevor's Father's Day Dirt Bike Race

Backbone Dynamic Duo and all -around dirt bags Randy Rush and Trevor Calton attended the annual Father/Son dirt bike(bag) race in Barona, CA...where Kenny Rogers' face was last seen sliding into hole 5 on the casino golf course...

The boys were out for the weekend to represent their team and get all jacked up on Kool-Aid and lolly-pops (RIGHT, Trevor?)...oh..and to race dirt bikes(bags).

Hey Captn,

How they hangin bro? Things are cool here... anyway I wanted to send you a
little race report from the weekend for Trevor and myself. We had a heck of
a week with Trevor graduating on Wednesday. We had all the family from AZ
staying at our house, and Kim was busting her ass for the graduation and the
party on the weekend...but we had a great time.

So on to the races! The whole family went out to Barona Oaks Raceway on
Sunday to watch the two nephews race and every year they also have a
father/son race at the end of the day as a "fun race." Trevor and I
decided we would race it on my 450. Now mind you neither one of us had been
on our dirt bike since New Years and Trevor has never rode a 450 on a track,
so this was a little nerve wracking for the both of us. At the end of the day
they give the fathers one lap to look at the track, so I let Trevor take that
lap so he could see how the big 450 runs. He came back saying "holy shit
this thing has WAY too much power for me!" so I told him to just have fun
because it doesn't matter how we do as long as no one gets hurt.

After his lap we lined up in the gate. The fathers have to start the race so
this is where I start SHITTING MY PANTS because this is the track that I got
hurt on four years ago. I was very nervous, but lets go have fun. So
dude, the gate drops and It all comes back. I ripped off a huge holeshot
and told myself "ok let's see if I can lead this for a couple corners" and
ended up leading for almost the whole first lap! Now we trade off every lap
so we were second when I handed the bike to Trevor and he did very well.. only
lost one place when he handed back to me. I take off and catch the guy and pass him,
go in hand to Trevor and rode good being as nervous as he was. Anyway we
ended up getting THIRD and had a lot of fun, so it was cool.

I'm sending some pic's along too, I was pimping team 'Boner and wore my
downhill jersey and was downing Amino Vital during the day.

Have a good one Captn.

Randy

RANDY! Thanks for the race report in the dirt, you guys kicked ass! Trevor sounds like he is doing well, and I hope he gets to do some DH racing this year again. You guys rock, and maybe KENDA can use those pix for some dirt bike stuff!!
