Amino Vital Makes The Grade

P.O.B. caled me last week and said that Amino Vital was used in an article/study on branch chain amino acids for intense athletic pursuits. Here are the contents of the article!

Add aminos! Long rides can lead to muscle damage and next day soreness, not to mention slowness on your next ride. Adding some amino acids to your usual energy drink can help reduce the damage and ease the achs, according to a study from Florida State University, in Tallahasee. When researchers added the BCAA's isoleviene, leucine, and valine to the carbohydrate sports drinks of nine cyclists, the riders suffered significantly less muscle damage, felt less sore, and could produce more power 24 to 48 hours aftera ninety minute ride when they quaffed an equal-calorie drink that contained just plain carbs. "By consuming BCAA's during training, you may be able to decrease muscle damage, and perform better when it comes time to compete" says study author Beau Kjerulf Greer, Ph.D., of Sacred Heart University in Fairfax, Connecticut. He says BCAA's seem to work best when blended with carbs such as AMINO VITAL's ENDURANCE or mix an amino supplement with your usual sports drink.
