Writer's Union Strike Leaves Many With Lots To Do.

***What kids should see in "reality," not "reality t.v."*********

The writer's union that creates all the scripts for television and film are on strike now, so batten down the hatches folks. Such gems as "Pluto Nash" and "Snakes On A Plane" may never be seen again.

How will we live without comic gold like T.V.'s "America's Funniest Home Videos" or anything with that runty little pudge-ball, Rachel Ray? Is the planet REALLY that doomed if Television went dark for a month or two? While I have friends that are writers in Los Angeles, I certainly am not that horrified at this turn of events. The Fed wants skinnier kids and less heart disease? This may help get your fat, pasty little half-wits off the couch and actually burn more calories than they pack in their fatty little pie-holes. I would love to hear of children who DIDN'T know what Puffy was doing, but were aware of a new mountain lion cub they saw in their local hills.

Now, understand I am also aware of the economic implications this can potentially have. All of L.A. is tied up and invested in the entertainment industry. That being said, would it really be bad if 2/3rd's of the population had to leave? CA would revert back to a ZERO tax base, criminals and junkies would be left, and VOILA! Traffic problem solved, overnight. No more five hour commutes to Westwood, no more teenage girls wearing Whore Goggles...

.....and Ugg boots in the summer.
I may actually get to go through a week without hearing about someone I know being hit and/or killed by a car (a daily occurrance in LA).

So let's all keep our finger's crossed and hope that if nothing else, the strike will get people away from their TV for a week or so....and maybe make the writers come up with something better than anything Jillian Barberie has passed off for news in the past few years....

It may get people away from their TV's for a week or so, BUT let's remember there is still plenty of XBox 360, Playstation 1,2 AND 3, PSP, Nintendo DS, Game Boy, Game Cube, and the latest attraction Wii to be had. How PATHETIC is that?????? I can't even comprehend how half these darn things even work!!?!??!? I remember the good old days of Atari......and I only resorted to that on rainy days! You should see how many of the adults I work with are addicted to these things! Then there is the internet.......what has this world come to?????
