USA Cycling announced it's selections for the World Cup competition in Fort William Scotland yesterday, just one year out from the Beijing Olympics. The selections are as follows;

Backbone team homies Mary Mac and Mike Broderick were selected to represent the USA, and I would like to wish them the best of luck and would love to be there to pit for them!

Lea Davidson, Shonny V., and Sue Haywood all received "discretionary nominations."
Shonny and Sue declined their nominations for reasons not listed (probably because as an alternate, you are not guaranteed a position but still have to miss several key domestic races), and were replaced by Kelli Emmett.
