Interbike Day 2 Update; Monday

Today started on little sleep, too much sun, and not enough beer. I awoke at 6:30a.m. to my wake up call, and met Vegas Bob outside for the run to the Hall. We had set up a tentative meeting with Tomac's Joel Smith to assist in bringing in their booth stuff. As it turned out, his crew wasn't coming in until late tonight, so we headed out to ODD. By 9 a.m. it was already blazing.
VB and I rolled to Amino Vital and began handing delicious cups of ice cold Amino Vital to thirsty riders...who of course loved it.
Monday at ODD is always slow, so I took the time to speak with several potential new sponsors. Hopefully that will end well!

Darter was at NINER BIKES along with James, who had apparently hurt himself on Piuma trail a few weeks back. The entire day was spent overheating in the dry desert air. Rebekah Mitchell from NOMAD
was there as the lead hottie in the tent, and all the ladies at the amazing pressure tank company were hard at work. The new tanks are SWEET and will be welcomed by Backboners this coming season. LOTS of new bikes..but mostly the same stuff with a small tweak..or hydroformed top-tube. Lots of buzz around the SPOT belt drive bikes, and all the new gravity stuff looked great. Vegas Bob and John Tomac were the ONLY TWO GUYS riding Carbides, so they got tons of looks and Wows..and Bob had a Mohawk too, so that helped.
Magura had some sweet product too, and Jude says hi to everyone!
Very boring day overall, but that's Monday. Had a nice free beer at TREK (Fat Tire!) and a beer somewhere else...then headed to KENDA to check on Matt, Nick, Stefano and my boy Wehe. They were slow too, and so Jim W. went to finish the booth at the Hall. Haven't heard from him in a while, so he must be ok!

My bathroom at Excalibur. The sink was low enough that my junk fell in the sink often. I shouldn't share a bathroom with anyone.

I'm back to shower, then VB and I will go for beers and food. 2009 team mechanic Ben Stock will arrive Wednesday for his first Interbike, and I can't wait to see Ming, Bert and everyone else who's coming! Holla'!

Jude Monica of Magura had his suspension forks on display, like this fairly bad-ass double-arch XC model w/lockout.

A sweet air-bag style rear suspension XC shock! THAT'S NEW, YO!

Xpedo's Ken Yamakoshi is a funny mo' fo', and is seen here showing you his pretty side. Damn...that's pretty!
