Interbike Day 3; Tuesday
Tuesday was a blast. It was hot for sure, but we managed to move the Amino Vital tent to a much better location near the middle of the venue. With lots of thirsty riders and traffic, we filled and talked up the product all day long. Everyone hung out and had a blast, talking way too much s**t to be normal. I have ben pleasantly surprised by the work ethic of the hired help at Amino Vital. Rarely do vendors send folks who work this hard AND have a sense of humor.
Vegas Bob's mohawk rocked the show this year, and the final day of ODD was no exception. With his Tomac Carbide and team jersey on, hundreds of people stopped to talk to our celebrity rider. MTBR.com even stopped and interviewed him about the product for about five minutes with cameras rolling! As the sun began to set, we tore it all down. POB and company enjoyed the fruits of membership into the well-connected Backbone family, collecting schwag at a heretofore unprecedented level.
Ken at Xpedo was doing his best impersonation of a male stripper, and Bobby Acuna at 661 (and Acunatech) was laughing it up all day long next to us. They rolled out an amzing "reactive armor" for gravity guys this year. It's a crazy foam that is small and thin before impact, then becomes some super material when it hits the ground. It was crazy, and I'l have to have Jay send us a report on it soon!
I was bummed that Joel had no Tomacs to ride at ODD, but their booth at the Hall Wednesday would prove to be worth it. Vegas Bob covered their move into the show Tuesday early while I went to ODD. He was a great asset to all team members Tuesday. He rocked their booth set-up and retunred to ODD for the remainder of the day.
We all convened at Monte Carlo Casino's "Diablo" bar for food and drinks...it was a great night chilling with one of the coolest sponsors we have ever had. Seriously funny bastards, you all have NO idea...frikin' Canadians.
We retired at about 1a.m., turned in, and prepared for opening day at the Hall. Nighty-Night!
