Fresh Snaps From Vegas Bob!

Pictures courtesy of Bill Freeman

World Famous Vegas Bob sent in some fresh pix courtesy of Bill Freeman today..or I jacked them from Bob's blog...from his recent running of the "Leaping Lizard" downhill race in Laguna Beach, CA. This race is put on every year, and attracts some of the best racers in the world. Hans Rey broke his foot here in practice the week prior to the race!

Vegas Bob channeled his alter ego, '80's singing sensation Rick Astley, to pound the course that took out Hans.

This area is great, and many of the trail options in the area bring you into the canyon where Crank Bros. was created. A popular riding spot for O.C. cyclists, this course is typically only run by the RADS...although Bob would know better than I do....about a lot of things.....especially women.

Brian Lopes(Kenda/Ibis) won this year, beating Bob by less than a minute. Of course VB is an Expert XC racer and NOT a World Cup winning gravity racer..so that was a great run!

This year the course was rutty and green from recent rains in California. Bob probably rode straight to the Hula Hut afterwards for a Lapu Lapu and got tanked on booze and coconut shrimp.
